Thousands of certified producers around the world use BAP and BSP certification to demonstrate responsible practices, strengthen buyer confidence and access global markets.
The certification process strengthened our internal systems, reinforced consistency across operations, and enhanced transparency for customers and partners. It also positions Cherrystone Aqua-Farms competitively in a global marketplace where verified, responsibly farmed seafood is increasingly essential. BAP certification affirms that sustainability and scalability are not mutually exclusive.
We chose to attain Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certification because we are building our business for the long term and from the outset wanted to operate to globally recognised standards. As a land-based aquaculture producer supplying premium domestic and international markets, independent certification is essential. BAP provides rigorous, third-party verification of our performance across fish welfare, biosecurity, food safety, environmental management, traceability and social responsibility.
Achieving BAP certification for our Tasmanian Oyster farm, the first in Australia, and extending this across our Mussel operations, provides independent verification that our practices meet the highest international standards.
Importantly, BAP is not a one-time achievement, but a framework for continuous improvement. It has strengthened our internal systems, enhanced traceability and reinforced a culture of accountability across our operations. For our customers, it offers confidence and assurance that Yumbah seafood is produced with integrity, care and global best practice at its core.
Choosing to become BAP certified was a strategic decision aligned with our corporate core values of championing sustainable seafood. This certification not only reinforces our commitment to responsible aquaculture but also enhances our brand image. It has become a badge of honor for us, signaling to consumers that we adhere to the highest standards in the industry.
